Nestor HERRAN

Nestor Herran is Associate Professor of History of Science at Sorbonne University. His research focusses on the history of the physical sciences in the 20th century, and more specifically on the history of nuclear science and technology, computer science, geophysics and environmental sciences in the Cold War. Former Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Strasbourg and assistant professor at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Nestor Herran has participated in several European research projects such as “TEUS “The Earth Under Surveillance. Climate Change, Geophysics and the Cold War Legacy” (2009-2014), “HoNESt: History of Nuclear Energy and Society” (2015-2018) and “SALTGIANT: Understanding the Mediterranean Salinity Crisis” (2018-2020). He is the author of one book and several articles in peer-reviewed journals. He will act as a scientific advisor for Work Package 7.
