UNESCO is known as the "intellectual" agency of the United Nations. At a time when the world is looking for new ways to build peace and sustainable development, people must rely on the power of intelligence to innovate, expand their horizons. Dr. Casimiro Vizzini from UNESCO’s section for Science Policy and Capacity Building leads InsSciDE’s WP9- Communication, Impact, and Project Legacy.

UNESCO’s Science Policy and Capacity-Building Division brings project learning to UNESCO-sponsored or related meetings in Europe and its partner regions of the world. It adds direct experience and actual channels of multi-level diplomacy, and contributes to the development of policy briefs. As manager of InsSciDE’s website and social media, UNESCO strives for fluid communication between InsSciDE members, policymakers and science and diplomacy practitioners.

Through their association with national and regional science and foreign affairs ministries and non-governmental organizations, UNESCO supplies InsSciDE with power to connect their research and capacity-building initiatives with the right people and institutions to generate the policy developments necessary for concrete impact and project legacy.
