David Burigana is Professor of History of International Relations (2015), Department of Political Science Law and International Studies (SPGI, Università degli studi di Padova), Member (2013) of the Steering Committee of CISAS - Center for Aerospace Studies and Activities «Giuseppe Colombo» (Università degli studi di Padova); Representative (2013) of Padua University in the Italian Center for Military Studies and Researches; Representative (2013) of Padua University in an agreement with the Maison des Sciences de l’Homme d’Aquitaine (Bordeaux); Founder and Member (2011) of SiSi the Italian Society for International History. Several Post-Doctoral Fellowship and Visiting Professorships in Italy and Europe; partner in Italian and foreign research projects; PI (2015-17) in a research project financed by the University of Padua «Ex-Post-Experts and Politics in Science and Technology».

He has been author of articles and papers at national and international conferences on armaments and aeronautical cooperation in Europe, and Air transport since the 1950s, operational aspects of European Defence, interaction between civil and military production, as well as on historiography on International History on techno-sciences and foreign policy; he visited private and State archives in Belgium, France, England, Italy, Spain, and the USA.

As WP leader, D. Burigana will organise a Local Network Presentation seminar, a Thematic Workshop and participate in the Project Management Board. He will supervise Task 2 and will carry out interviews and participate in writing up 2.2 Case study: Space Racks Diplomacy for Earth: why and how international experiments in orbital laboratories produce a European Diplomacy for Science cooperation in Space Global competition.
